FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a monomer composition and to a method for producing a fluorinated polymer, used to produce a fluorinated polymer with a high molecular weight. The monomer composition includes a specific cyclic monomer and a polymerisation inhibitor, wherein the polymerisation inhibitor constitutes a polymerisation inhibitor complying with the following requirements: (a) constituting a 6-membered unsaturated cyclic hydrocarbon with 1 to 4 substituents, (b) having at least one type of substituent selected from the group consisting of a tert-butyl group, a methyl group, an isopropenyl group, an oxo group and a hydroxy group, as a substituent, (c) in case if the polymerisation inhibitor has an oxo group as one type of substituent, one or more other substituents other than oxo constituting a t-butyl group and a methyl group, and (d) in case if the polymerisation inhibitor has a hydroxy group as a substituent, the number of hydroxy groups being equal to one.

EFFECT: polymerisation inhibitor is well-dissoluble in the cyclic monomer, the cyclic monomer exhibits good stability during storage, and the cyclic monomer and the polymerisation inhibitor are easily separated by distillation.
