SUBSTANCE: invention relates to consumer industry and relates to an apparatus and method for manufacturing a semi-manufactured product (end product, such as sponges) intended for cleaning, washing or treatment of various objects and surfaces, comprised of two or more heterogenous layers bonded by an expanding polymer permeating a porous material during the polymerisation process. Proposed is a method of manufacture of a multi-layer cleaning product constituting a composite made of a spongeous part of a foamed polymer material and an abrasive layer, consisting in forming a polymer mixture subject to foaming and feeding the mixture during the foaming thereof into a work channel closed along the perimeter, two opposite walls whereof are formed by conveyor belts of two vertically oriented conveyors and rest on rollers outside, placing along one of said walls of the work channel a tape made of a porous material differing from the material of the spongeous part constituting an abrasive layer, placing along the other wall of the work channel a tape in form of a film or paper or tape made of a porous material made of a material differing from the material of the spongeous part, and feeding the foaming polymer mixture during movement of the conveyor belts into the space of the work channel between said tapes and the film or paper or into the space between said tapes made of a material differing from the material of the spongeous part and then pulling the conveyor belts between the rollers until the end of the foaming process. Also described is an apparatus for manufacture of a multi-layer cleaning product.
EFFECT: increased reliability and durability of a composite cleaning product comprised of heterogenous layers by increasing mechanical tensile characteristics and increasing resistance to aggressive cleaning products.
