FIELD: natural water purification methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for bioremediation of water contaminated with hydrocarbons. The method involves bringing the contaminated water into contact with at least one polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). Microorganisms present in polluted water and capable of metabolizing hydrocarbons are given the opportunity to develop and destroy hydrocarbons under aerobic conditions. PHA is dispersed in polluted waters in the form of particles having an average size from 0.1 microns to 1000 microns. PHA is dispersed in polluted waters separately or together with at least one substance selected from a group consisting of: at least one nutrient suitable for promoting the development of microorganisms; at least one microorganism capable of metabolizing hydrocarbons; at least one surfactant; or mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: improving efficiency of bioremediation of water contaminated with hydrocarbons.
