FIELD: medicine, pulmonology, cardiology and respiratory sleep medicine in particular.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pulmonology, cardiology and respiratory sleep medicine, and concerns a method for determining the probability of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in a patient with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The method consists of determining the following indicators: C-reactive protein in the blood (C) (mg/l), homocysteine (G) (mkM/l), testosterone (T) (nM/L), while each feature is assigned its numerical value meaning that each feature is assigned an experimentally determined weight value in the form of a product of a constant coefficient and a numerical value of the laboratory indicator: (1.61412) and the value of the indicator of C-reactive protein in the blood (mg/l), (1.05771) and the value of the indicator of homocysteine (mkM/l) in the blood, (-0.34785) and the value of the testosterone index (nM/L) in the blood and is summed with a constant equal to (-16.63326), followed by the calculation of the LVH probability formula. At a probability value of 50% or higher, a high risk of left ventricular hypertrophy is predicted in a patient with OSA with subsequent development of cardiovascular complications; at a probability value below 50%, the risk is low.
EFFECT: application of the invention makes it possible to develop a method for determining the probability of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in a patient with OSA by a limited number of laboratory signs that individually and combined have high sensitivity and specificity.
