SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tillage machines, it can be used in the manufacture and restoration of ploughshares, cultivator paws and flat-cutting knives that are subjected to abrasive wear. Intermittent surfacing is performed from the upper and lower sides of the blade in the form of lenticular bodies fused into the knife material with a diameter of d1 and d2, respectively, with a step s=(4.1…4.3)d1, and d1<d2. Surfacing is performed with a displacement in the longitudinal direction of the centers of the lower surfacing relatively to the upper one in the direction of the knife movement by an amount a, inversely proportional to the thickness c of the knife base.

EFFECT: an increase in the wear resistance of tillage knives and ensuring the effect of self-sharpening of the blades during their operation due to the formation of their toothed shape, which helps to reduce the resistance during tillage.
