The processing unit for structural components (2) of a plane with a processing station (3) includes a clamping frame (4) and a processing module (5) equipped with a first upper tool module (11) with an upper tool (13) oriented along a first tool axis (12a) and a lower tool module (14) with a lower tool (15) oriented along a second tool axis (12b). The processing module (5) comprises a second upper tool module (11') with an upper tool (13') oriented along a third tool axis (12a'). In at least one processing position of the upper tool (13') of the second upper tool module (11') and in at least one processing position of the lower tool (15) of the lower tool module (14), the second tool axis (12b) and the third tool axis (12a') are oriented coaxially to each other.

EFFECT: facilitation of service work on the upper tool and reduction of shutdown time due to service work.
