FIELD: tools.
SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to a tool system for turning a workpiece, to a method of turning a workpiece and to the use of an insert. The tooling system for turning includes a tool body that runs along the longitudinal axis (L) and has a first end for connection with a lathe and a second end with a front end, on which a socket for a replaceable cutting insert is made, and a replaceable cutting insert attached to the socket for joint rotation. The cutting insert comprises a lower side made in the form of a support surface, an upper side made in the form of a front surface and a peripheral side surface made in the form of a rear surface, and a cutting edge formed at the transition from the upper side to the peripheral side surface. The cutting insert is located in the socket with the provision of the upper side passing perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (L) of the tool body. The cutting edge projects in the radial direction beyond the outer perimeter of the front end of the tool body relative to the longitudinal axis (L) by at least two used cutting tips and adjacent cutting edge sections on both sides. At least two said cutting tips used include at least a first cutting tip and a second cutting tip different from the first cutting tip.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions improves processed products accuracy.
