FIELD: high-frequency technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-frequency technology, it can be used in the creation of generators of high-frequency (HF) radiation. The gas-discharge generator of high-frequency pulses contains a gas-discharge chamber formed by two electrodes - a hollow cathode and an anode isolated from it, which define the working space of the gas-discharge chamber, a power source, an electric load unit and a system for creating a gas environment. The hollow cathode is connected to the high-voltage bus of the power source, the anode is connected to the zero bus, an electrical load unit is connected between the electrodes, while the electrical load unit is connected to the cathode through a separation capacitor and to the anode by means of a reverse current line. The geometric parameters of the gas-discharge chamber are selected from the condition of increasing its working space. The increase in the capacity of the working space of the gas-discharge chamber and the intrinsic inductance of the current-carrying parts of the gas-discharge chamber is compensated by a decrease in the total inductance of the remaining elements of the oscillating circuit, so that the intrinsic oscillation frequency of the circuit is preserved.

EFFECT: technical result is a reduction in the thermal load on the gas-discharge generator of high-frequency pulses in intensive pulse-periodic operating modes due to an increase in the mass-dimensional characteristics of the gas-discharge chamber, which is part of the device, with a constant value of the generation carrier frequency.
