METHOD, DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING INTERFERENCE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC H04W24/02

Abstract RU 2751554 C2

FIELD: wireless communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of wireless networks, it can be used for detecting interference. The main principle is using the first access point for detecting interference that hinders the wireless device associated with the second access point, wherein the device in the interference source is within the range of the first access point, but not within the range of the second access point. Taking advantage of the difference in coverage between different wireless network technologies, the first access point is able to detect both data traffic from the second access point and a nearby interfering device in the same frequency channel. More specifically, by measuring the intensity level of a signal received in the frequency channel in a time period, where no data traffic from the second access point is detected, the first access point is able to detect interference in accordance with the measured signal. The detected interference corresponds to another device using the frequency channel of the second access point without communicating with the second access point. Since interference detected by the first access point may not be detected by the second access point (because it is not within the range of the second access point, although it hinders some of the devices associated with it), there is an advantage in that the first access point sends an information element indicating that interference is detected. The sending of such an indication is useful since it allows the second access point to detect the interfering device, even if it is not within its range.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of transmission by the second access point.
