SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural engineering and can be used for harvesting bast crops, such as flax, for the formation and pressing of rolls of stem tapes. The round baler for bast crops contains a frame with a hinged hitch frame, a baler with a hydraulic transmission containing a control system, a bale strapping mechanism, a transmission to the working bodies, a pick-up body with a drive, a mechanism that provides an oscillatory movement of the pick-up body relative to the hitch frame. When the baler moves, the pick-up body picks up a tape of flax stalks from the field. The crank mechanism provides the oscillating movement of the picking body relative to the hitch frame. The oscillation amplitude is adjusted depending on the length of the stalks by changing the connection between the connecting rod and the pick-up frame.

EFFECT: invention ensures uniform filling of the bale chamber with stems across the width.
