FIELD: dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a dental file used to expand/clean the root canal during dental treatment. The dental file contains a spiral working section, the cross-sections of which decrease in the direction of the tip. At least one of the cross-sectional shapes of the working section is essentially a rectangular shape formed by one arc and three lines. Two points of four points in four corners of an essentially rectangular shape are located on an imaginary circle that includes an arc as part of it, the other two points are located inside an imaginary circle, and the center of the imaginary circle is located inside an essentially rectangular shape. The smallest of the lengths of perpendicular lines, each of which runs from the center of the imaginary circle to three lines, is equal to or greater than 45% and equal to or less than 65% of the radius of the imaginary circle.
EFFECT: use of the inventions makes it possible to provide excellent indicators of flexibility, cutting ability and resistance to breakage.
