FIELD: pipelines.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pipeline transportation of hydrocarbon products. In the method, an apparatus including an in-line piston equipped with a polyurethane foam disk is passed through the pipeline. The disk has an outer diameter providing a gap between the outer surface thereof and the inner surface of the pipeline to form a near-wall annular channel wherein a directed gas flow is created along the inner surface of the pipeline wall followed by measuring the temperature of the directed flow. The apparatus includes an in-line piston containing a plug and a body with two pairs of elastic cuffs, provided with circular holes in the middle part in two parallel planes, at least four in each plane, equipped with a polyurethane foam disk with an outer diameter providing a gap between the outer surface thereof and the inner surface of the pipeline. At least four curved channels are made in the rear part of the disk, wherein spraying pipes are installed connecting the cavity of the piston with the annular wall channel formed by the inner surface of the pipeline and the outer surface of the disk via the corresponding holes in the body. A sealed divider is installed in the piston cavity, at least four curved channels are made in the front part of the disk, wherein receiving tubes are installed communicating with the near-wall annular channel at one end and with an axial channel of the plug at the other end, wherein a temperature sensor equipped with a recording device is installed in said channel.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is expanded functionality and improved accuracy of determining the pipeline temperature.
