FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transportation of hydrocarbon products via pipelines and can be used in operation, repair and reconstruction of main pipelines. In the pipeline cavity drying quality assessment method, involving the foamed polyurethane piston movement in the drained pipeline cavity and performing measurements when polyurethane piston comes out of pipeline, previously foamed polyurethane piston is impregnated with methanol solution to initial concentration value. After outlet of polyurethane piston from pipeline cavity there separated is water-methanol solution formed as a result of saturation with moisture in cavity of dried pipeline. Concentration of the separated water-methanol solution is determined, and based on the results of comparison of the obtained concentration value with the initial value, the presence or absence of residual moisture in the cavity of the pipeline is stated.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of pipeline drying control, as well as in expansion of technical means for implementation of specified control in pipelines, which are in conditions of low soil temperatures at the depth of its installation.
