The wrapping material contains a non-flammable material and extends from the distal end of the article at 10 to 85% of the distance to the mouthpiece end of the aerosol-generating material. The aerosol-generating apparatus comprises an aerosol-generating article. Also proposed are a method of manufacture of an aerosol-generating article and a method of preventing ignition or burning of an aerosol-generating material in an aerosol-generating article.
