SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for obtaining Fe-Fe3O4 nanoparticles potentially applicable as contrast agents in biomedical research. The method includes an electric explosion of an iron (Fe) wire, based on spraying the wire in a gaseous medium - a gas mixture of an inert gas and oxygen containing 1% vol. oxygen.

EFFECT: obtained are nanoparticles with an iron core-oxide shell structure with a high specific magnetic moment.
