METHOD FOR REGULATED NON-RESECTION RECONSTRUCTION OF POSTERIOR LEAFLET OF MITRAL VALVE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2752340 C1

FIELD: medicine, cardiovascular surgery.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery. The plication seam is started from the free edge of the affected segment of the posterior leaflet and is performed only with the first thread. In this case, the first thread is taken into the fold of the prolapsing or torn segment of the leaflet and a seam is applied to the fibrous ring of the valve. After that, a rigid support ring is implanted and hydraulic tests are carried out to assess the result of plastic surgery. If the valve is consistent, the second thread of the double winding seam is used to perform stitches that are identical to the stitches made by the first thread. When valve leaks appear or persist in the reconstructed section, stitches are applied with the second thread of the double winding seam that differ from the stitches made with the first thread. Then the second thread is also led to the fibrous ring of the valve and its end is connected to the end of the first thread.

EFFECT: method allows carrying out a “return”, non-resection, controlled plastics of the mitral valve, which makes it possible to correct leaks that occur during the stages of reconstruction, without the need to remove the previously imposed double winding plication seam and/or support ring by changing the sequence of stages of the operation of applying a double winding seam to the rupture zone or prolapse of the posterior leaflet.
