SUBSTANCE: disclosed are methods and systems for cleaning an exhaust system liquid injector of a diesel engine (ESL) clogged with carbamide. When liquid is supplied from the ESL dosing system to the exhaust duct of the engine via the ESL injector, insufficient flow through the ESL injector is indicated in response to the fact that the working cycle of the ESL pump is less than the first threshold value of the working cycle. Operation of the engine in an ESL injector cleaning mode is ensured in response to this instruction. The ESL injector cleaning mode includes idle engine operation and increasing the engine idle speed to an idle speed higher than that during operation of the engine outside of the ESL injector cleaning mode. The system is comprised of an engine, an intake throttle valve, an emission toxicity reduction apparatus connected with the exhaust duct of the engine, a liquid supply system, a turbocharger, a temperature sensor connected with the exhaust duct, and a controller. The emission toxicity reduction apparatus comprises a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic converter, a nitrogen oxide content sensor and a diesel particulate filter. The controller comprises instructions stored in long-term memory, providing various modes of operation of the system.
EFFECT: simplicity of cleaning, possibility of cleaning without removing the injector from the vehicle, reduced repair time.
