FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrochemical method for obtaining molybdenum carbide by electrolysis, according to which the electrolysis is carried out in the electrolyte melt, at the following ratio of components, molar percent: K2CO3 43.0-45.0, Na2CO3 43.0-45.0, Li2CO3 1.0-4.5, Li2MoO4 9.0-9.5, at temperatures in the range of 1073-1173K and a current density of 0.5 ÷ 3.0 A/cm2.
EFFECT: joint electrical recovery of molybdenum and carbonate ions against the background of a melt of a mixture of alkali metal carbonates and the process of electrochemical synthesis of highly dispersed molybdenum carbide powders is implemented.
