FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves electrolysis of the melt, which is performed in open baths under galvanostatic conditions at cathode current density of 1.5 - 3.0 A/cm2 and temperature of 800 - 900°C so that carbide-salt bulb is obtained, which is pulled down from cathode and crushed; after that, the obtained powder of double tungsten and molybdenum carbides is cleaned and dried at temperature of 100°C during 1 hour. Electrolyte includes the following mol %: lithium tungstate 24.0 - 36.8, lithium molybdate 1.0 - 5.0, lithium carbonate 7.0 - 35.0, and sodium tungstate is the rest.
EFFECT: improving dispersion ability of powders of double tungsten and molybdenum, simplifying the synthesis and instrumentation process, and increasing the synthesis speed and cleanliness of target product.
