SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system and method for positioning and controlling an aircraft as it moves along a taxiway, a material non-short-term computer-readable information carrier. For positioning and controlling the aircraft, one or more processors access the model of a multi-channel neural network stored in the program memory, one or more processors receive multiple electronic images of parts of the taxiway from electronic imaging devices on the aircraft, data is processed to form an estimate of the lateral evasion of the aircraft as it moves along the taxiway. A material computer-readable carrier contains instructions for performing the method.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the accuracy of the estimate of lateral evasion when controlling the aircraft on the taxiway.
