FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of adsorption technology and can be used to produce modified active carbons (MAC) used for water treatment of process effluents in factories of chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The method includes washing industrial AC with distilled water, treating with low-concentrated effluents from production of ε-caprolactam containing up to 0.5 g/dm3 ε-caprolactam and up to 0.2 g/dm3 ammonium sulfate at a ratio of the carbon mass (g) to the waste water volume (cm3) of 1:100, for 24 hours and further warming at a temperature of 200°C in an atmosphere of carbon dioxide supplied from a cylinder via a reducer with an averaged flow rate of 8 to 9 l/min for 1 hour.
EFFECT: increased sorption capacity of active carbons for dimethylformamide, reduced consumption of electricity and reagents, increased waste water consumption, excluded explosive reagents.
