FIELD: adsorption technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for water treatment of process effluents from enterprises in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. A method for purifying aqueous solutions from sulphate ions involves the use of active carbon. Pre-active carbon is washed with distilled water and treated for 24 hours with a solution containing caprolactam with a concentration of 0.5% and barium chloride with a concentration of 0.1% at a ratio of the mass of coal in grams to the volume of solution in cm3 of 1:100. Next, the treated active carbon is heated at a temperature of 300°C for 2 hours in the air atmosphere.
EFFECT: increased sorption capacity of active carbons for sulphate ions.
