FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical diagnostics, particularly, to methods for determining the technical condition of an object, primarily of reciprocating equipment, including diesel generators, and can be used to control electric drive equipment and diesel generators, reloading machines, drives of control and protection systems of nuclear power plants, for diagnostics, parameter control, processing and presentation of control results, issuing recommendations and instructions for repair of diesel generator units. The method consists in measuring the vibration acceleration values in three mutually orthogonal planes using vibration sensors installed at the control points of the diesel generator, conducting preliminary measurements of the vibration acceleration values at the control points of a known operating diesel generator, followed by conducting subsequent measurements of the vibration acceleration values at the control points of the diesel generator during operation thereof at a regulated frequency. The values of temperature and intensity of the ultrasonic signal are therein additionally measured at the same control points and the RMS values of intensity of the ultrasonic signal, temperature and vibration acceleration are determined, and the RMS values of vibration velocity and vibration displacement are calculated from the measured values of vibration acceleration, the obtained values are presented in form of matrices. The obtained RMS values are then normalised, the covariance matrices are calculated and singular value decomposition is performed thereon resulting in eigenvectors and eigenvalues, the obtained data is then projected onto the principal components, forming clusters corresponding with the measurements at each point in the principal component space. The standard interval is then determined, formed as the range of the distance between the clusters of previous the measurements, and a conclusion is made about full operability of the diesel generator when more than 50% of the clusters of the current measurements lie within the standard interval, or about the presence of defects in the operation of the diesel generator when less than 50% of the clusters of the current measurements lie in the standard interval, or about a malfunction of the diesel generator malfunction when more than 50% of the clusters lie under the limit of the standard interval.
EFFECT: providing a possibility of timely detection of deviations in the operation of a diesel generator by periodic measurement and comparison of the obtained calculation results with each other, and thus, in ensuring industrial safety of the technological equipment of the units.
