FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of technical diagnostics of power equipment. Method for determining the technical condition of power equipment using the parameters of thermographic images consists in thermal imaging monitoring (TIM) and recording of ultrasonic signals at control points of the equipment being diagnosed and a priori serviceable equipment of the same type operating in the same mode. The RMS values of the lengths of said signals are calculated and represented as trajectory matrices. The matrix of parameters of the serviceable equipment is converted into a covariance matrix and subjected to further processing. The basis of the vector space of the covariance matrix is formed; the matrices of parameters of the serviceable and defective equipment are projected onto the basis of the vector space; the projections on the first direction of the vector space (the main component) are represented as probability distribution density functions (PDDF); the PDDFs are used to calculate the probabilities of errors of the first and second kind, and if the probabilities of errors of the first or second kind are less than 30%, then a malfunction is identified in the equipment being diagnosed.
EFFECT: reduced rate of diagnostic errors.
