FIELD: cosmonautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning of orbits, including a geostationary orbit, from space debris in form of de-orbited spacecrafts (DSC). The problem of cleaning is solved by a space complex including a launch of a spacecraft (SSC) with autonomous maneuvering modules into a standby orbit, coplanar and close in height to the orbit of the DSC. Indication of the target (DSC) is transmitted from the ground control station to the SSC detecting the DSC and calculating the maneuvering parameters of the module and transmitting the target designation and the calculated parameters to the module. The latter is separated from the SSC, approaches and de-orbits the DSC. The modules in the standby orbit are consequently separated from the SSC and placed within the range of the homing system of the modules therefrom. The modules are launched to the DSC starting from the nearest module to the SSC. In the event of a malfunction of the SSC, the target designation is transmitted to the modules from an apparatus not included in the complex, and the maneuvering parameters are calculated onboard the module.
EFFECT: increased reliability and reduced sensitivity of the cleaning method to adverse external factors.
