SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to controlling a massage apparatus in terms of adjustment of the massage mode. The apparatus for controlling a massage apparatus is comprised of: a setting unit configured to set a massage mode, and a control unit configured to control the speed of movement of the drive module performing the massage to adjust at least one of the duration execution of the massage procedure and the massage force according to the massage mode set by the controller unit and to the body shape of the user. The control unit therein comprises a body shape calculating unit configured to scan the body of the user to calculate information on the body shape including at least one of the weight and the back length of the user. The control unit also comprises a time adjustment unit configured to control the speed of movement of the drive module based on the information on the body shape to adjust the duration of said massage procedure and to adjust so that said massage procedure is completed in the same time regardless of the information on the body shape.
