FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to the field of chemistry and can be used to obtain a catalyst for the oxidative dimerization of methane. A method for obtaining a catalyst for oxidative dimerization of methane in the Bi2O3-SiO2 system is described, including preliminary mechanical mixing of the initial powders of bismuth oxide Bi2O3 and silicon oxide SiO2, heating the resulting mixture in a platinum crucible to a predetermined temperature, characterized in that the purity of the initial components must be no lower than the classification “chemically pure” for Bi2O3 and no lower than “pure for analysis” for SiO2, then the mixture of the initial components is heated to 1100-1180°C, kept for 15-60 minutes, then the melt is cooled to a temperature of 1040±10°C, it is kept for 15-60 minutes, after which it is subjected to quenching, which ensures the amorphous state of the material and excludes any contact of the cooled melt with foreign substances, except pure platinum, followed by heating of the resulting amorphous material in the reaction of oxidative dimerization of methane to temperatures of 780-800°C.
EFFECT: increased synthesis rate of an effective catalyst for the ODM reaction at a 1:1 composition in the Bi2O3-SiO2 system and its activity compared to a polycrystalline material of the same composition.
