FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to chemistry and can be used to produce an adsorbent of toxic compounds. Method of producing compound δ*-Bi2O3 in system Bi2O3-SiO2 includes mechanical mixing of initial components, heating, maintenance and cooling. Initial components are mixed at ratio (in mol%) equal to (72–81.5)Bi2O3 and (28–18.5)SiO2, the mixture is placed in a platinum crucible, heated to 885–1,180 °C, held for 15–60 minutes and cooled at rate of 3–1,000 °C/s in the absence of factors which disrupt the supercooled melt metastable state.
EFFECT: reduced time expenditures for obtaining the target product.
