FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to carbon- silicon carbide constructional materials operated under conditions of high heat load and oxidative environment and may be used in chemical, oil, and metallurgical industries as well as in aircraft engineering. Method includes preparing carbon plastic stock based on carbon fibers and thermosetting binder, thermally treating stock to form coke matrix reinforced with carbon fibers, saturation with pyrolyzed carbon and siliconizing. Prior to be siliconized, stock is additionally thermally treated at 1900-2000 C to crystallize settled pyrolyzed carbon and to form pore channels. Siliconizing may be performed with silicon-boron mixture. Prepared material contains 30- 72 wt % of carbon fibers, 0.5-5 wt % of matrix carbon, and 25-65 wt % silicon carbide. The latter is located in carbon matrix, mainly in the form of threads penetrating space between carbon fibers. Material can additionally contain 0.1-2.5 wt % of boron compounds.
