FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat-protective coatings based on alkali metal silicates and is intended for use in the aviation and space fields. The material “Vulkan-M” for the external thermal protection of the aircraft is proposed, it includes a binder, a filler with hollow microspheres, organic additives removed during heat treatment, where ethyl silicate is contained as a binder, caustic potassium liquid glass, colloidal binder: silica; vacuum aluminosilicate microspheres, kaolin and bentonite clays, mullitosilicate fiber, microsilica are used as the filler; and removed organic additives are sodium tripolyphosphate as an adhesion promoter; plasticizer: polyethylene glycol; diluent of the mass: polymethylene naphthalene sulfate; a moisture-retaining additive: polyalkyl acetate at the following ratio of components (wt. %): ethyl silicate (1-2), colloidal binder: silica (23-26), liquid caustic potassium glass (45-50), vacuum aluminosilicate microspheres (4-5), kaolin and bentonite clays (15-20), mullitosilicon fiber (2-3), microsilica (0.5-1.5), sodium tripolyphosphate as an adhesion promoter (0.5 - 1.5), plasticizer-polyethylene glycol (0.2-0.4), mass diluent - polymethylene naphthalene sulfonate (0,4-0,8), a moisture-retaining additive-polyalkyl acetate (0,1). The material can be used to protect the outer surfaces of high-speed aircraft at high operating temperatures.
EFFECT: proposed material has increased durability, operating temperature up to 1200°С and a low coefficient of thermal linear expansion.
