FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method for optical measurement of a cover in order to record and/or control its parameters. Cover (12, 14) has various parameters that are essential for the process of closing it, which must be controlled or at least recorded. The device contains robot (34), first fixed optical sensor (64), at least one more fixed optical sensor (72, 74, 76). Robot (34) with movable gripper (38) accepts cover (12, 14). First fixed optical sensor (64) is provided for determining at least one first parameter (OD, OV) of cover (12,14). Fixed optical sensor (72, 74, 76) allows one to find another parameter (CP, CPA, CPB, CC, LH, LW, LS, LC, C1, C2) of cover (12, 14). Robot (34) places the cover received by gripper (38) on laying surface (62) in the registration area of first optical sensor (64). First parameter (OD) is found, and robot (34) moves the cover received by gripper (38) within another registration area of additional optical sensor (72, 74, 76) to find specified one more parameter (CP, CPA, CPB, CC, LH, LW, LS, LC, C1, C2).

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to check the covers of food containers during the production process for compliance with the specified parameter values within the permissible deviations.
