FIELD: optical discharge.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for generating an optical discharge in order to obtain broadband optical radiation with high spectral brightness and is of interest for applications in microelectronics, spectroscopy, photochemistry and other fields. In the method of forming an optical discharge, which consists in igniting an optical discharge located in the discharge chamber using two pin electrodes located near the optical discharge, between which a breakdown voltage pulse is applied, the radiation of two lasers is focused by a mirror - an off-axis paraboloid. Laser beams are directed at the edges of the mirror parallel to its axis so that the angle between them during reflection and focusing is at least 60 degrees.
EFFECT: expansion of the range of technical means.
