FIELD: radio transmission.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a methodology for transmitting and receiving a configuration message for a phase tracking reference signal PT-RS over a radio channel between a radio access unit and a radio apparatus. The radio channel comprises a set of subcarriers in a physical resource block (602) PRB. A subset of subcarriers (608) in the PRB (602) is distributed to the demodulation reference signal DM-RS. The configuration message is transmitted to the radio apparatus, wherein the configuration message comprises a bit field indicating at least one subcarrier distributed to the PT-RS from a subset of subcarriers distributed to the DM-RS.

EFFECT: reduced signaling control load caused by configuration.
