FIELD: aerosol generating systems.

SUBSTANCE: cartridge (100) for an aerosol generating system contains: air inlet (150), air outlet (110) and air flow channel (140,145) from the air inlet to the air outlet; atomizer unit (120) containing a liquid-permeable aerosol generating element and two electrical contact sections connected to the aerosol generating element, wherein the atomizer unit has the first side and the second side opposite to the first side, and the first side of the aerosol generating element is open to the air flow channel, and the second side of the aerosol generating element is in contact with liquid aerosol forming substrate; and atomizer holder (134) made by pressure mold around the atomizer unit, wherein the atomizer holder covers a part of the first side of the atomizer unit to isolate electrical contact sections from the air flow channel and covers at least part of the second side of the atomizer unit to isolate electrical contact sections from liquid aerosol forming substrate.

EFFECT: cartridge is made in such a way that it provides a simple and inexpensive method for securing a liquid-permeable atomizer unit, such as a heating unit, while simultaneously protecting electrical contacts from liquid and steam inside the cartridge.
