SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining and can be used in the reclamation of the sides of the quarries. To do this, when terracing the side of a quarry in the course of reclamation, talus formed at the foot of the slopes of the ledges is used as a man-made mixture, the rocks from which are laid on the outer side of inter-stepped areas, and a trench is created along the inner side of the site to collect rocks crumbling from the slope. The width of the man-made mixture embankment is set as a quotient from dividing the area of the cross-section of the talus on the inter-step platform by the rational thickness of the embankment - 0.35-0.5 m. The formation of embankments from the man-made mixture to the inter-stepped sites begins from the upper ledge of the non-working side and ends with the bottom of the open pit. The insufficient amount of technogenic mixture on the lower benches is compensated by the transshipment of loose sediments from the upper ledge. The effect is achieved by eliminating transport operations for the delivery of man-made mixture to inter-stepped sites and preventing the subsequent collapse of rocks crumbling from the slopes on the surface of the created layer of man-made mixture.
