SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a light guide element and to a system for countering biofouling containing such a light guide element. Light guide element (1300) contains light guide (300), which contains first light guide surface (301) and second light guide surface (302), between which material (305) permeable for UV radiation is located. Light guide (300) contains silicone, wherein light guide element (1300) additionally contains first layered element (30) permeable for UV radiation that is in contact with first light guide surface (301) and/or second layered element (130) that is in contact with second light guide surface (302). First layered element contains an optical layer, which has refractive index less than that of water, for ultraviolet radiation.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of biofouling prevention.
