FIELD: vessels and other floating crafts; equipment for ships.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the surface protection against fouling method and device, while the said surface is at least partially immersed into the liquid environment, in particular to the vessels hulls fouling prevention. According to the method, providing the anti-fouling light is provided (9) and providing the optical medium (5) in close proximity to the protected surface, at that, the optical medium (5) has radiation surface. Distributing at least portion of the anti-fouling light (9) through the optical medium (5) in direction substantially parallel to the protected surface. Radiating the anti-fouling light (9) from the optical medium (5) radiation surface in the direction away from the protected surface. Anti-fouling light (9) is radiated through at least one light source built into the optical medium (5) for placement on the protected surface.
EFFECT: technical result: the optical medium distributes the anti-fouling light over the large area protected surface, which increases the light power without the need in the large power source, contributes to the more efficient transfer of light energy.
