FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a marine cable device which is adapted to prevent fouling, commonly referred to as anti-fouling, particularly to protection against fouling of submarine cables, such as umbilical cables or hose seismic receivers. Disclosed marine cable device configured to prevent or reduce biofouling along its outer surface, which during operation is at least temporarily exposed to water, comprises at least one optical medium configured to receive at least part of the anti-fouling light generated by at least one light source. Optical medium comprises at least one radiating surface configured to feed at least a portion of said anti-fouling light onto at least a portion of said outer surface.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of marine cable device with anti-fouling system.
