SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a polymer composition absorbing ultraviolet radiation including plain polyether of the formula (3), which includes esterification/transesterification of polyglycerin intermediate (2) of the following formula 2 with benzotriazole UV chromophore (1) of the following formula 1 containing an additional functional group with the formation of plain polyether absorbing UV radiation (3) of the following formula 3, where A is hydrogen or alkyl with 1-8 carbon atoms, and k is a number from 2 to 20, and n and m are independently from each other a number from 0 to 20, wherein at least one of m and n is ≥1.
EFFECT: claimed method provides a polymer composition absorbing UV radiation, which meets strict regulatory requirements for sunscreen compounds applied to the skin, which apply to the maximum permissible amount of benzotriazole derivatives that are not associated with polyglycerin, and residues of toxic solvents, catalysts.
