SUBSTANCE: invention relates to motor transport. The power unit of the electromechanical transmission of a powerful autonomous road construction machine contains a turbocompressor, an electric generator and a control system for the turbocompressor and electric generator. The rotor of the turbocompressor is connected to the rotor of the electric generator. The control system of the turbocompressor and the electric generator is informationally connected to the control system of the electromechanical transmission. A braking control unit is introduced into the control system of the turbocompressor and the electric generator, which, when receiving a signal from the control system of the electromechanical transmission to switch to braking mode, generates a signal to switch the turbine to low gas mode, sends a control signal to the compressor valves to switch to braking mode, and generates control signals that ensure the transfer of the electric generator to the electric motor mode and the implementation of the torque on the rotor shaft of the said electromechanical converter in accordance with the signal of the braking setpoint.
EFFECT: electric braking performance is improved.
