The electric braking mode is carried out, while the generator is turned off, the electric engines are switched to the generator mode and the braking energy is stored in the storage device. If the value of the required power exceeds the power of the diesel generator, the generator, the storage device, and the electric engines are connected so that the power of the generator and the storage device are added together when they are connected to the serial circuit and the total power is transmitted to the electric engines.
