METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF UNRESECTABLE HYLUS CHOLANGIOCARCINOMA Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61N5/67 A61K31/282 A61K31/7068 A61P35/00 

FIELD: medicine; oncology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology; it can be used in the treatment of unresectable hylus cholangiocarcinoma. A method includes selecting patients by Bismuth-Corlett IV or IIIa, or IIIb type with contralateral damage to vascular structures, conducting systemic chemotherapy, surgical staging and liver transplantation. Additionally, a patient is subjected to targeted intra-flow photodynamic therapy before systemic chemotherapy and, no earlier than 3 days later, transarterial chemotherapy once with cisplatin in the amount of 25 mg/m² and gemcitabine in the amount of 1000 mg/m². Systemic chemotherapy is carried out no earlier than 7 days after transarterial chemotherapy in the same regimens once, repeating it no earlier than 21 days later. The specified treatment is repeated after 18 days in the same regimens at least 3 times before surgical staging, with the continuation of treatment until liver transplantation.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to reduce the overall toxic effect on the patient’s body, to stop tumor growth by using photodynamic therapy and transarterial chemotherapy in the treatment regimen, as well as to treat hylus cholangiocarcinoma in patients who previously could not be performed with radical intervention by resection of the liver and extrahepatic bile ducts, to improve results of liver transplantation in this category of patients.
