SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to hepatobiliary surgery and oncology, and can be used to determine survival in patients with portal cholangiocarcinoma after resection of the liver and extrahepatic bile ducts. According to the results of the histological examination, the presence of diagnostic factors is determined: microvascular invasion, lymphovascular invasion, tumor cells at the edge of bile duct resection, tumor invasion in the liver, perineural invasion, tumor cells in surrounding fatty tissue, tumor cells in the lymph nodes. If two or less factors are identified, the survival rate is more than 2 years as 100 %, less than 2 years – 0 %. If there are 3 to 5 factors, the survival rate of more than 2 years is 29 %, from 1 year to 2 years – 71 %, less than 1 year – 0 %. If there are 6 to 7 factors, the life expectancy of more than 2 years is 0 %, from 1 year to 2 years – 17 %, less than 1 year – 83 %.

EFFECT: method ensures the accuracy of determining the survival of patients after surgical treatment, due to a comprehensive assessment of microscopic parameters of the tumor.
