FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used to find the route of laying an optical cable. To expand the scope of application, a coherent phase-sensitive optical reflectometer operating in the time domain measures the backscattering characteristic of the optical fiber of the cable, which determines the characteristics of the distributions of acoustic signals along the optical cable, a vehicle with an acoustic signal source is moved along the route of the optical cable, the coordinates of the vehicle are determined using the equipment of the global positioning system, and according to the characteristics of the distributions of acoustic signals along the optical cable, the distances from the optical cable to the vehicle are determined, according to which, knowing the coordinates of the vehicle, the coordinates of the optical cable are determined, while not one but a group of vehicles with acoustic signal sources are moved along the route of the optical cable, and a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) connected by communication channels with each other and with the central control station are moved as the group of vehicles, and on each UAV, the acoustic signal source generates a signal at an acoustic frequency different from the acoustic frequencies of the acoustic signal sources of other UAVs in the swarm, through communication channels, the UAV flight path is controlled according to the specified coordinates in the swarm, the mutual location of the UAV in the swarm and the height of the UAV flight above the earth’s surface in the swarm, using the equipment of the global positioning system, the coordinates of each UAV in the swarm are determined, and according to the characteristics of the acoustic signal distributions along the optical cable, highlighting the parameters of acoustic signals at frequencies generated by the sources of acoustic signals of UAVs in the swarm, by which individual UAVs are identified, the distances from the optical cable to the UAV are determined, by which, knowing the coordinates of the UAV, the coordinates of the optical cable are determined.
EFFECT: expansion of the scope of application.
