FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used to find a routing and determine the depth of laying of a bundle of microtubes without metal elements in a fibre-optic communication line, particularly in transport multichannel communication with a fully dielectric optical cable. To realise the technical result, an insulated conductor is preliminarily laid between the viewing apparatuses in a free channel of one of the microtubes of a bundle of microtubes of a fibre-optic communication line, at one end whereof an electromagnetic signal generator is activated between the conductor and the ground connection, and the other end of the conductor is grounded, the intensity level distribution of the electromagnetic field above the path of the fibre-optic communication line, created by a current flowing through an insulated conductor, is measured, the location and depth of laying of a bundle of microtubes is determined by the results of processing of the distributions, and after the search for the routing and the depth of laying of the bundle of microtubes is completed in the section of the fibre-optic communication line between the viewing apparatuses, the insulated conductor is disconnected and removed from the channel of the microtube.
