FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: to produce composite oxide of lithium and cobalt composed of LiCoO2, a stock solution containing nitric cobalt, a lithium compound and a gelling agent are heated. As a gelling agent, glycine and citric acid are used, taken in the ratio (0.31-0.39):(1.04-1.96) by 1 g of LiCoO2. To prepare the stock solution to a solution of nitric cobalt containing 50-85 moll. % of cobalt from stoichiometry, glycine and citric acid are added. The resulting solution is heated to a temperature of 50-70°C until citric acid is completely dissolved and cobalt is added to basic aqueous carbonate containing 15-50 moll. % of cobalt from stoichiometry. A stoichiometric amount of lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide is added. Then, drying and annealing of the produced powder is carried out after heating the initial mixture. Annealing is carried out at a temperature of 850-950°C for 5-10 hours.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to exclude the release of nitrogen dioxide into the environment, to increase the productivity of the process, to shorten the duration of high-temperature heat treatment, to ensure the monophasic composition of composite oxide.
