FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medical equipment and concerns a method for calibrating the light source of a medical device. The light source is made with the possibility of connecting to light-guide fiber for introducing optical radiation into it. The medical device is connected to a calibration port containing sensors for determining a spatial characteristic of the radiation of light guide fiber. During calibration, a positioning device containing a receiving channel for receiving light-guide fiber and at least one radiating hole is inserted into the calibration port. Light-guide fiber is introduced into the receiving channel of the positioning device and the spatial characteristic of the radiation output from light-guide fiber in the area of the calibration port is determined as the actual radiation characteristic. The actual radiation characteristic is compared with a certain required radiation characteristic and, if the actual radiation characteristic corresponds to the required radiation characteristic, light-guide fiber is allowed for further use.

EFFECT: technical result is excluding the possibility of using unsuitable light-guide fiber and increasing the accuracy of selecting the output intensity of optical radiation.
