FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the electric power industry, namely to devices for warning aircraft pilots about the passage of linear objects located above the earth’s surface, such as wires, steel cables, as well as preventing birds from landing on them. The signal marker for linear objects located above the ground surface is made in the form of a spherical element having a landing slot, the bottom of which contacts the marked object when the marker is installed on it, while on the side of the marker opposite to the landing slot, a fixing groove is made in which a flexible fixing element is laid, wound on the marked object from two opposite sides of the marker, and the marker is made with a signal external color contrasting with the environment. The method consists in placing at least two signal markers along a linear object. At the same time, according to the invention, the painting of the parts of neighboring markers facing each other is performed in contrasting tone and/or color, and the places of marker location are chosen near the nodes of mechanical vibrations of a linear object.

EFFECT: invention ensures effectiveness of the device by increasing the visibility of the device placed at the protected linear object.
