FIELD: electric power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric power and high-voltage technology, in particular to devices for the protection of insulated wires, line insulators and equipment, mainly 6-35 kV, against atmospheric overvoltages. The device consists of a nonlinear surge arrester equipped with a fixing end electrode and a discharge end electrode made in the form of a rod, as well as at least one additional electrode located at a distance from the discharge end electrode with the formation of a spark gap between the two indicated electrodes and the ability to reset overvoltage to the grounded parts of the supports through a nonlinear surge arrester and an additional electrode during the breakdown of the specified spark gap.
EFFECT: increased protection against overvoltage of any electric power element of voltage class 6-35 kV, simple in design, reliable during long-term operation, and also allowing providing a higher degree of protection of its elements from fraudsters.
