FIELD: electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric power industry and, in particular, to indicators of overlap of insulators (insulation structures) of overhead power lines with voltage 6÷1150 kV. Indicator is a device fixed on the metal grounded part of the insulator 1 or on a garland of insulators, or in the immediate vicinity of them on the support arm. It consists of electrode 2, marker 3 and fusible element 4. Electrode 2 is involved in forming the air gap of insulator 1, marker 3 allows to visually determine the fact of overlapping of insulator 1, by means of fuse element 4 the circuit opens when the short-circuit current flows at air overlapping of insulator 1 or the insulator strings and marker 3 is released.
EFFECT: proposed insulator overlap indicator allows you to visually identify an insulated insulator or a garland of insulators after the presence or absence of a marker on the insulating suspension.
